What fits in a 30-yard
- Whole-house remodel: kitchen, two baths, flooring and drywall from a 2,000–2,500 sq ft home.
- New construction: framing offcuts, sheathing, drywall and packaging through the build, with swaps.
- Large cleanout: a full estate with garage and shed, or a hoarding situation with scheduled swaps.
- Commercial interior demo: office build-out strip-outs, retail fixtures, ceiling grid and carpet.
- Storm cleanup: a yard's worth of limbs plus soaked drywall and flooring.
- Roofing: large or two-layer roofs by volume — but weight decides; ask for a heavy-load quote.
Why contractors run a 30
Framing and drywall are light and bulky: a 20-yard fills before it gets heavy, which means more swaps. A 30-yard cuts swaps by a third at a modest price step, and the 4-ton allowance covers mixed loads with tile and plaster. For the dense phases — slab, driveway, masonry — order a dedicated 20-yard heavy load alongside it so neither container goes overweight. Concrete never goes in the 30. Placement
Same driveway footprint as a 20-yard, two feet taller, so watch for low branches, eaves and service drops on the approach. Boards go under the wheels and rails on every delivery. 30 or 40?
