What changes the price
- Weight class. Household and construction debris is light; concrete, brick, dirt and roofing shingles are dense. Dense loads are quoted as dedicated 20-yard heavy loads at a per-ton rate with a lower fill line; concrete never goes in a 30 or 40-yard. Mixing them into a general load is the most common cause of a surprise overage, so tell us what is going in.
- Overage tonnage. Above the included tonnage, disposal is passed through at the county's rate. Polk County's North Central Landfill charges $46 per ton for construction and demolition debris (effective October 1, 2025) with a $10 minimum, and the county has scheduled 5% annual increases for five years. We do not mark this up.
- Distance. Lakeland, Mulberry, Bartow, Auburndale and Winter Haven are our home turf. Haines City, Lake Wales, Davenport and Tampa carry a modest drive adjustment that is in the flat rate, not added later.
- Rental days. Extra days are cheap; a second haul is not. If you think the job might run long, say so when booking.
- Prohibited items. If the landfill rejects or surcharges a load because of tires, batteries, wet paint or Freon appliances, that cost passes through. The permitted-waste list tells you what to keep out, and Polk County takes most of it free.

National roll-off rental averages published in April 2026 were $672 for a 20-yard (range $374–$1,362), $801 for a 30-yard ($450–$1,460) and $891 for a 40-yard ($512–$1,583), with 7–10 day rental periods typical. Tampa-area weekly rates published for 2026 run about $475–$700 for a 20-yard and $600–$825 for a 30-yard.
Lakeland quotes from Dumpster Rental King are usually at or below the Tampa range for two reasons: the county landfill is 20 minutes from the yard, and there is no broker or franchise margin between you and the truck. The national figures above are aggregated from brokers who resell local haulers' capacity; when you call a broker, you are often paying us plus their fee.
Dumpster rental vs. junk removal: which costs less?
A container is cheaper per cubic yard if you have the hands and the time to load it. Junk removal, where our crew loads, costs more per yard but nothing in labor, and it is often cheaper for small piles — one or two pickup loads — because you skip the delivery and pickup trips.
